Antimatter in the Universe

چکیده
The world in our neighbourhood, as we observe it, is 100% charge asymmetric. We see only matter and any considerable amount of antimatter nearby is excluded [1,2]. A small number of antiprotons and positrons in the cosmic rays (to say nothing of those produced in accelerators) can be prescribed to the secondary origin. Charge asymmetry in terms of visible massive matter defined as/3B = (riB -nf3)/ (riB + n~) is close to one. Here nn and n~ are the number density of baryons and antibaryons respectively. However, the cosmologically more natural quantity

Primordial Antimatter in the Contemporary Universe
In some baryogenesis scenarios, the universe acquires a non-vanishing average baryonic charge, but the baryon to photon ratio is not spatially constant and can be even negative in some space regions. This allows for existence of lumps of antimatter in our neighborhood and the possibility that very compact antimatter objects make a part of cosmological dark matter. Here I discuss the peculiar si...
متن کاملSeeable Matter; Unseeable Antimatter
The universe we see gives every sign of being composed of matter. This is considered a major unsolved problem in theoretical physics. Using the mathematical modeling based on the algebra T := C ⊗ H ⊗ O, an interpretation is developed that suggests that this seeable universe is not the whole universe; there is an unseeable part of the universe composed of antimatter galaxies and stuff, and an ex...
متن کاملAvatars of a Matter–antimatter Universe A
An elegantly symmetric Universe, consisting of large islands of matter and antimatter, is by no means obviously out of the question. I review the observations that lead to the usual prejudice that the Universe contains only matter. I discuss recent work 1 inferring that this prejudice can be converted into an inescapable conclusion. I argue that our theoretical conviction should not discourage ...
متن کاملMatter - antimatter domains in the universe
A possible existence of cosmologically large domains of antimatter or astronomical " anti-objects " is discussed. A brief review of different scenarios of baryogenesis predicting a noticeable amount of antimatter is given. Though both theory and observations indicate that the universe is most possibly uniformly charge asym-metric without any noticeable amount of antimatter, several natural scen...
متن کاملAntimatter in Different Baryogenesis Scenarios
Possible mechanisms of abundant creation of antimatter in the universe are reviewed. The necessary conditions for that are: baryonic charge nonconserva-tion, spontaneous breaking of charge symmetry or nonequilibrium initial state, and the formation of appropriate initial conditions during inflation. In this case the universe may be populated with domains, cells, or even stellar size objects con...
متن کاملAspects of matter-antimatter asymmetries in Astrophysics and relativistic heavy ion collisions
The idea of antimatter as a negative energy solution of relativistic free fermion equation as given by Dirac raises the issue of why the (observed) Universe is apparently constituted by matter whereas fundamental theories of elementary particle indicates the same laws for (creating) matter and antimatter [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. In fact, observational Astrophysics and Cosmology indicate a large baryon-...
